We all want to have an easy life. Currently owned by Facebook, Instagram tries to make our social life easier by offering new and more useful features every day. One of the recently added features is the ability to post Instagram stories to Facebook .
For a long time, the feature of automatically sharing Instagram posts on Facebook was active. If you connect your Facebook and Instagram accounts, you can share posts directly from Instagram to Facebook. There is no need to upload photos separately to each account.
However, sometimes while sharing a post, the post is not shared even though you press the share button on facebook. Then it may be necessary to fix some problems.
In this article, we will tell you how you can share instagram posts and stories on facebook.
Integrate your Facebook and Instagram account.
To share your Instagram posts to Facebook directly from the app, it’s imperative that you link the two together. If you don’t link the two accounts properly, your Instagram posts will not be shared on Facebook.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your phone and go to the profile section. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.
- Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Linked Accounts. You will find multiple social networks listed here. Tap Facebook. Grant the necessary permissions.
After doing this, make sure the Facebook tag turns blue. This indicates that your Facebook profile is linked to your Instagram account.
Instagram automatically links your personal facebook account. If you want to link to a different page or account then you have to select it separately.
In case of multiple pages, tap Edit Profile to choose a page where you want to automatically post your Insta posts. Then under Edit Profile, tap Facebook Page and select your page.
- Sign out of both apps.
Sometimes a simple solution like signing out fixes Facebook and Instagram issues. Since you need to link Facebook and Instagram account, we basically do a universal reset by logging in. After logging out of both apps, you need to log in again and follow the steps outlined in step 1.
Follow these steps to sign out of Instagram:
- In the Instagram app, go to the profile section and tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Sign Out of your account.
Similarly, to log out of your Facebook account, open the Facebook app and tap the three-bar horizontal menu in the top right corner. Scroll down the screen and tap Exit.
Then, first log into Facebook and follow Instagram. As mentioned above, follow solution 2 to link these accounts.
- Change your Facebook password
Another solution you can try to fix Instagram and facebook linking issue is to change your Facebook password. This basically means exiting all sessions. And, if a problem occurs due to an incorrect login, doing so will allow you to post Instagram messages back to Facebook. To change Facebook password, follow these steps:
- Open the Facebook app on your phone and tap the three-bar menu. Scroll down the screen and tap Account Settings, then Security & login.
- Then tap Change password and change your password.
When you change the password, you will log out of all connected Facebook apps. Sign in to Facebook app using the new password and then connect Instagram and Facebook as mentioned in solution 1.

Most of the time, when you reset your Facebook password, Instagram will not log you out of your Facebook account. Linking will continue, but will not automatically share their posts on Facebook. So, to fix this, you need to unlink Instagram from Facebook and then relink the two accounts.
To unlink Facebook from Instagram, tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner in Instagram’s profile section. Next, tap on the Linked Accounts option after Facebook. Under Facebook, tap Unlink. After doing that, reboot your phone and reconnect as mentioned above.
- You can completely unlink Instagram from Facebook.
You can try to uninstall Instagram from connected apps on Facebook. However, when you do this, all your previous posts will be deleted from Facebook as well. If you want to try this solution, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Open the Facebook website on your PC and tap the small down arrow on the top bar. Select Settings from the menu.
- Step 2: Select Apps from the left sidebar and select Instagram from the list of apps. Then click Uninstall. This action will revoke access from Facebook to Instagram.
